Three days of ‘Beer’ vibes in Jamaica

JAMAICA'S inaugural Red Stripe Beer Festival is scheduled for May 22 to 24 at the newly renovated Barbican Beach, St Andrew.


The announcement was made at venue on Wednesday.
"Every major beer-producing country has a similar event and Red Stripe has been thinking about staging one for some time now," Cedric Blair, managing director Red Stripe, told the Jamaica Observer.

The festival will feature Red Stripe and associate brands including Guinness, Heineken, and Smirnoff Ice wrapped around various food and entertainment packages at Barbican Beach.

"This is the first ever beer festival and it's about showcasing good food, and great Jamaican beers. We have every intention of making this a calendar event as it has the potential to attract overseas visitors as well as expose local consumers to other brands they may have never tried," Blair said.

A lyme — free to the public — will kick off the festival, while the remaining days will attract an entry fee of $500.
The event will also serve to educate consumers on the importance of returning bottles, beer production, and responsible consumption.
